Why LUMAS Was Created

My Story
Sarah Gold, Co Founder
In January 2025, a skiing accident in Japan marked the beginning of an unexpected and serious health journey for me. A broken leg led to a deep vein thrombosis (DVT), bilateral pulmonary emboli and a transient ischaemic attack (TIA).
In the months that followed, I experienced heart complications, persistent migraines and significant photosensitivity. I found myself under the care of a specialist team, including a respirologist, cardiologist, neurologist and haemotologist. What had begun with a skiing accident had become a prolonged period of serious health challenges that affected every aspect of my daily life.
As my medical teams continued to manage my care and persistent symptoms, I began to think more broadly about my wellbeing during such a difficult period. It was in this context that my sister, who holds a PhD in physiology, introduced me to the Human Regenerator™ jet.
I knew nothing about the technology at the time so I approached my first session with curiosity. I went on to experience six sessions over eight days and each felt different. After months of finding it difficult to relax, tolerate my surroundings and simply feel settled in my body, that sixth session felt particularly significant. I found myself able to rest, focus on my breath and reflect on how far I had come.
That experience became the beginning of a much deeper curiosity about wellbeing. It strengthened my appreciation for the remarkable complexity of the human body and the many factors that contribute to how I feel - including rest, movement, nutrition, relationships, sleep, mindset and environment.
I also wanted to understand the technology behind the Human Regenerator™ jet. I became increasingly curious about Cold Atmospheric Plasma - what it is, how it works and the scientific research continuing to emerge around it.
That curiosity ultimately led to the creation of LUMAS Regeneration and the opportunity to introduce this whole-body CAP experience to Australia.
